Marano Lagoon

In the heart of Europe, at the crossroads of Latin, Germanic and Slavic worlds, Friuli Venezia Giulia has always been a land of encounters: the result is a unique and peculiar mixture of languages, cultures and traditions.Trieste is a perfect balance of styles: Neoclassical, Art Nouveau, Baroque and Eclectic exist harmoniously with Roman ruins and buildings of the 18th century built by Habsburg. Grado, the island of the sun with long beaches and with an old town that remind Venice,   has a group of islands that create the suggestive lagoon. Not far away, for those who love history, there is Aquileia, an open-air archaeological museum declared a world heritage site.
